Process and reactant for in-situ desulphurisation of biogas and for the elimination of corrosion and nauseating odour problems in anaerobic digesters and in any other mixtures or plants producing them

Process, reactant, its alternative forms, and their applications for desulphurising biogas in situ, for the removal and/or the extraction of H2S and incidentally of organic molecules containing -SH groups, and for the suppression of their odours and of corrosion problems in anaerobic digesters, aerobic purification stations, fermenters, biochemical reactors and in any mixtures producing these molecules. The reactant consists chiefly of a mixture of iron hydroxide (Fe(OH)3) and of calcium oxide (CaO). A series of alternative forms of the reactant can be produced. The process consists in introducing the reactant directly into the reaction mixture or into the substances to be treated.
