PURPOSE:To eliminate the need of a recovery processing on the host side, and also, to eliminate the need of an expansion to the last dot image information on the printing side. CONSTITUTION:A read-out control part 14 reads out successively dot image information from a bit map memory 13, inputs it to a mechanism controller 22 and prints it by a printing part 21. A recovery memory 15 stores the dot image information of the latest (n) page portion read out by the read-out control part 14, and a page head address management register 11a stores successively the head address of each page stored in the recovery memory 15. When a request for executing recovery printing by tracing back by an (m) page portion is generated due to a paper jam, etc., a printer control part 11 derives the head address being before (m) pages from the page head address management register 11a, reads out the dot image information by an (m) page portion from a storage area of the recovery memory 15 shown by the head address and inputs it to the mechanism controller 22 and executes recovery printing. |
