PURPOSE:To sustain traveling upto a destined station by preventing considerable deterioration of acceleration performance even upon failure of one inverter. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of VVVF inverters 161-164 invert DC power into AC power which are employed in individual control of a plurality of induction motors 201-204. Since failure of any one inverter causes only the associated induction motor to be inoperative and the remaining induction motors to operate, the vehicle can travel continuously without lowering the acceleration capacity considerably. |
