The control system has the paint supply controlled via automatic ON/OFF valves (FNV) in dependence on the relative positions of the workpiece and the spray system. Each of the ON/OFF valves (FNV) has a feedback circuit with throttle valves (DV1,DV2) controlled in synchronisation with the ON/OFF switching to prevent unwanted press fluctuations. Pref. each throttle valve (DV1,DV2) is connected across a feed pump (Z1,Z2) and is supplied with switching signals from a central switching control (ZST) in dependence on the meological characteristics of the paint spray system. The switching of both sets of valves (FNV;DV1,DV2) can be updated during the paint spray programme.
