SENSING METHOD FOR PORTABLE RADIO EQUIPMENT

PURPOSE:To attain ease of sensing and to extend the service life of a vibrator by driving the vibrator intermittently so as to increase the vibration accelera tion. CONSTITUTION:A motor 37 of a vibrator connects to an emitter of a transistor(TR) 52 via a current limiter resistor 51 and a base of the TR 52 connects to an output of a microcomputer and a collector connects to a battery 53. The TR 52 is turned on/off by a signal from the microcomputer to drive the motor 37 intermittently. When a call comes to the portable telephone set, since the vibrator is driven and the vibration is delivered, the arrival of the call is sensed almost without any sound. Moreover, the vibrator is driven intermittently and the vibration acceleration at rising is momentarily increased, then the carrier senses the arrival of the call in a short time. Furthermore, the current consumption is reduced with the best use and the service life of the vibrator is extended.
