<??>The method and the system, after frequency transform coding of the signal into coefficients y(k), over weighting windows formed by sample blocks x(n) containing N successive samples, make it possible to carry out, on decoding the transform coefficients y(k), optimum filtering of KALMAN filtering type so as to reduce, when in the presence of a transition in amplitude of the signal, the additive noise resulting, during coding, from the quantizing of the transform coefficients.
