The invention relates to a surgical fastener apparatus comprising two releasably connected apparatus parts (1, 2). A first apparatus part (1) designed as a disposable unit receives the magazine with the fasteners and tools for shaping and implanting the fasteners, whereas handles (4,6) for operation of the apparatus are assigned to the other apparatus part (2). During the operating phase relatively high forces develop which may lead to separation of the two apparatus parts (1, 2). This is prevented, according to the invention, in that a second connection (14, 15, 18, 19) is provided between the two apparatus parts (1, 2) in addition to the abovementioned first connection, which second connection is only effective during the operating phase. ……
