<p>4-(3-Fluoropyridin-2-yloxy)phenoxypropionic acids of the formula I <IMAGE> in which X represents hydrogen, fluorine, chlorine, bromine or trifluoromethyl, and Y represents hydrogen, sodium or potassium, are prepared by reacting a compound of the formula II <IMAGE> in which X and Y have the meanings given under formula I, with hydrogen fluoride and a diazotising agent in an anhydrous medium and converting the diazonium fluoride formed into the 4-(3-fluoropyridin-2-yloxy)phenoxypropionic acid of the formula I by thermal decomposition.</p> |
