PURPOSE:To obtain a novel cushioning material, save resources and prevent pollution by producing the cushioning material usable as a packing material for articles from materials such as the waste material of a carton for beverage. CONSTITUTION:The waste material of a carton for beverage, which consists of cardboard processed by laminating plastics thereon, is chipped, and the chips are put into a mold to be loosely compressed. Then, microwaves are projected on the chips in a pressed state and, thereafter, they are cooled to be hardened while air spaces caused by loose pressing are being left among the chips. The product thus obtained not only has cushioning properties and can be utilized as a packing material for articles, substitute for a honeycomb core material and the like, but also serves for resource-saving and pollution prevention. |
