The alkaline cpd. used comprises sodium metasilicate and possibly a biologically degradable tenside and an alkaline metal citrate. The bleach medium consists of either a mixt. of separate granules of sodium percarbonate or sodium perborate and an activator comprising tetra acetylethylene diamine or granulated potassium peroxymonosulphate only or a mixt. of separate granules of sodium percarbonate alternatively sodium perborate and potassium peroxymonosulphate. The compsn. of the washing machine medium lies within the limits 5 to 20 wt.% sodium percarbonate alternatively sodium perborate, 0.2 to 3.0 wt.% TAED, 4 to 6 wt.% (calculated as P) sodium triphosphate, 60 to 65 wt.% sodium metasilicate, 0 to 0.5 wt.% biologically easily degradable tenside and 0 to 15 wt.% sodium, citrate, all calculated on the total wt. of the medium. |
