PURPOSE:To perform density control with high accuracy while patch load and cleaner load for detecting the density are lightened by combining an ADC system and an ACDC system so that a toner supply quantity may be controlled. CONSTITUTION:Image density at a reference potential part(patch) formed in the specified area of a photosensitive material 20 is detected by an ADC sensor 31 at specified intervals. A controller 30 calculates the ratio of a reflected light quantity at the patch part to the reflected light quantity on a clean surface. While checking the ADC, the scanning of an exposing lamp 3 is executed and the reflected light on a reference reflector 2 is read by an AE sensor 32 and then the reflected light on an original surface is detected. The controller 30 calculates the area coverage of the original based on the ratio. Then, the toner supply quantity is controlled based on the added value of the on-time of a dispense motor 33 or 34 by the ACDC and the on-time of the dispense motor by the ADC. |
