The invention relates to an intrarectal treatment probe and to an apparatus for the application thereof. This intrarectal probe comprises at least one piezoelectric transducer element (20) and is characterised in that the transducer element (20) is mounted in a support member (30) which is itself connected to a rigid guide means (32) permitting an intrarectal introduction of the probe, the said support member (30) preferably having an outer disc shape with a profile which is for the most part essentially circular or essentially elliptic, in such a way as to promote an intrarectal introduction. <IMAGE>
