PURPOSE: To provide a photographic silver halide material for forming a direct positive image, particularly a computer output image (COM). CONSTITUTION: This photographic sensitive silver halide material for forming a direct positive image consists of a supporting body, a photosensitive emulsifying agent layer containing an anti-fogging internal latent image type silver halide particle dispersed in a hydrophilic colloid binder and a developing nucleus forming agent and a protective hydrophilic colloid layer, and a photosensitive emulsifying agent is a surface developer and contains at least one kind of a compound giving iodine ion at the time of developing a material, the weight ratio of the hydrophilic colloid binder in the emulsifying agent layer to silver halide expressed in terms of silver nitrate is 0.4:1 to 3: 1 and the thickness of the protective colloid layer is 1-3μm in dry state.
