The invention relates to a buffet unit for dispensing hot or cold food, designed to be installed in the middle (TYPE I) or along a wall or close thereto (TYPE II) in a dining area. This unit consists of: the body of the unit, which is in the form of an inverted pyramid (5) supported at the base by two small pyramids (6); a skeleton (5); a synthetic resin top (1) with an opening whose dimensions are those of the container (2); in the top, a polyester container (2) with a drain plug (3) will be housed; a tap at the front or through the floor (7); and four tray ways in the form of round tubes fixed at the top around the perimeter of the body.
