<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration in display grade arising form unequal gaps by obtaining uniform liquid crystal oriented films and maintaining a specified spacing between substrates. CONSTITUTION:The film thickness of transparent electrodes 2 of the picture element parts of the switching substrate 3 is set equal to or larger than the thickness of switching elements 1 for display driving, by which the gap G1 between the surface of the transparent electrodes of the picture element parts and the surface of the counter transparent electrode is set equal to or narrower than the gap G2 between the surface of the switching element for display driving and the surface of the counter transparent electrode. Consequently, the gap between the surface of the transparent electrodes of the picture element parts and the surface of the counter transparent electrode occupying the greater part of the liquid crystal panel area is narrowest within the panel and the specified spacing between the switching substrate 3 and the counter substrate 5 is maintained by the spacers 7. The unequal gaps are no longer generated and the uniform printing, applying and rubbing of the oriented film 8 are possible. The high-grade liquid crystal display panel is thus obtd.</p> |
