PURPOSE:To improve flexural resistance and handling property without degrading light transmission characteristics by specifying a relation between a yield stress and breaking stress in a strain-stress test. CONSTITUTION:The yield point exists in the strain-stress test measured at 10cm/min tensile rate exists at 20 deg.C in the all plastic optical fiber having a core-clad structure and the relation between the yield stress Ysigma and the breaking stress Bsigma satisfies Bsigma>=Ysigma. The failure of the fiber is prevented in this way in spite of repetitive flexing. |
