<p>A method and a device are described for transferring photon energy or wave energy from materials of an organic and inorganic nature to a liquid, in particular water, the energy-supplying materials being enclosed in a tube or a container made of glass or aluminium, preferably of quartz glass, and the latter being moved in a liquid. Lying in the container (1) is a prepared plate (5) which is coated with semiconductors (8, 9), for example with germanium. In addition, substances (11) can be coated onto the plate.
