PURPOSE: To prevent the occurrence of insufficient gradation, heaping of toner grains except an image pattern, the accumulation of toner, overdevelopment, etc., even at a low peripheral speed of a magnetic brush. CONSTITUTION: Magnetically attractable toner powder consisting of resin grains including a magnetically attractable material is supplied to an image forming region 4 between an image recording medium 5 and a movable carrying medium 7 exerting magnetic attracting force to the toner powder. In the image forming region, the toner powder is heaped on the image recording medium with an electrostatic attracting force, in accordance with a desired image pattern. The movable carrying medium 7 has at least a magnetic induction of 0.2T on the surface applying attracting force to the toner powder and the toner powder used includes the magnetically attractable material by <=3vol.%. The toner powder includes the magnetically attractable material having soft magnetism such as carbonyl iron and other additives such as a coloring material, a charge control agent and a conductive material, if possible and the effective magnetic susceptibility is at least 2. |
