PURPOSE:To contrive to eliminate shear in a printing position due to thermal expansion of a substrate and to prevent shear in color in relation to a printing head in which a plurality of light emitting diodes are disposed in an array on a substrate and an latent image is formed on a photoconductive element by light from those light emitting diodes. CONSTITUTION:A mask plate 3 on which a opening part 4i smaller than a light emitting area of a light emitting diode 1i is installed according to the light emitting diode 1i is arranged by making an arranging direction of the light emitting diode 1i agree with that of the opening part 4i. A temperature detection means 6 detecting a temperature of a substrate 2 is provided onto the substrate 2. Besides, in order to rotate the arranging direction of the opening part 4i by a specific angle to the arranging direction of the light emitting diode 1i based on a temperature detected with the temperature detection means 6, a rotating means 5 rotating a mask plate 3 is established. The light emitting diode 1i is formed in an almost rectangular form. Besides, those light emitting diodes 1i are arranged by inclining by a specific angle from a position normal to the arranging direction of the light emitting diodes 1i.
