<p>A shock absorbing seat mounting system for a watercraft (74) includes a base (12) and a platform (14) interconnected by a linkage (16, 13). A spring (20) biases the platform to an upper position, and a damper (22, 24) damps movement of the platform. The base (12) is mounted in a high speed watercraft (74) oriented such that the line of motion of the platform, with the watercraft (74) floating in a stable, rest position, defines an angle of 30°-70° with respect to the horizontal.</p> |
