Medication powder-dosing carrier

A flat carrier material, supporting a velvet- or velours-like layer of fibres between which a medicament powder is incorporated, is claimed. Also claimed are (A) processes for dosing powders for inhalation comprising (a) using a gas stream to drive out a definite amt. of powder from the carrier material (A) and to disperse the powder in respiratory air; (b) applying individual powder doses onto the carrier material (A) as a suspension, drying, activating and using a gas stream to drive out and disperse the powder into respiratory air; or (c) loosening an individual powder dose with a brush or by stripping along one edge of the carrier material and dispersing in a passing respiratory air stream without use of an additional gas stream; and (B) prodn. of the carrier material (A) comprising (a) uniformly distributing powder on the carrier and working the powder into the fibre layer; or (b) applying a small amt. of powder suspension onto the carrier and evaporating the suspending medium.
