The drive is used for can lid beading, flanging, bonding etc., or for separating the lid and body on a turret type machine and employs a cylindrical toothed rim, travelled by geared work supports. The toothed rim (7) is rotatable and is joined to a selectively controlled drive (9), pref. of stepless type. USE/ADVANTAGE - For metal can prodn., with controlled workpiece peripheral speed, irrespective of workpiece size.
