PURPOSE: To provide an apparatus and a method useful to detect whether the glass pH electrode in electrochemical sensor or particularly pH sensor is damaged or not. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus for detecting damaged pH sensor comprises first and second electrodes made of metal electrodes separately disposed at different potentials and reactivities in the container of an electrochemical sensor, voltage measuring means connected to the first and second electrodes to detect the voltage between the first and second electrodes to indicate the damage of the container by indicating the invasion of moisture into the container, and dry salt for generating electrolyte when the moisture is invaded, thereby detecting the damage of the electrochemical sensor. |
