PURPOSE:To provide thermal recording paper excellent in the close contact properties with a thermal head, enhanced in recording sensitivity and reduced in the generation of a paper powder by respectively setting the amount of the filler added to base paper and the dry coating amount of a water-soluble high-molecular substance to be coated to specific values and adjusting the coefficient of variation of the formation of the base paper to a specific value. CONSTITUTION:The amount of the filler added to base paper is set to 10wt.% or more and the dry coating amount of the water-soluble high-molecular substance applied to the base paper is set to below 0.3g/m<2> on the side provided with a thermal recording layer and to 0.3g/m<2> or more on the side not provided with the thermal recording layer and the coefficient of variation of the formation of the base paper measured by a light transmission type formation meter and a sheet formation tester is adjusted to 8.0% or less. when the amount of the filler in the base paper is below 10wt.%, the smoothness of the base paper is damaged and the close contact properties of thermal recording paper with a thermal head becomes inferior in such a case that the thermal recording layer is provided. The desired dry coating amount of the water-soluble high-molecular substance is 0.1g/m<2> or less. When the coating amount exceeds 0.3g/m<2>, the cushion properties on the side provided with the thermal recording layer are damaged and the close contact properties with the thermal recording layer become inferior. |
