PURPOSE:To prevent blocking and also prevent drop of fluidity and electrostatic charging characteristic due to excessive embedment of inorganic particulates containing Si by specifying the value of toner specific surface area reduction rate within a certain range. CONSTITUTION:The value of toner specific surface area reduction rate Rs as defined by Eq. I shall range from 0.75 to 0.94. The value lying within this range will ensure favorable degree of embedment of Si-containing inorganic particulates in colored resin particles, and therefore it is not likely that the particulates separate off, and further the dropping of the particulate adding effect likely to be caused by embedment will be retarded very much. In Eq. I, Sp is BET specific surface area of toner in m<2>/g, ST is BET specific surface area of colored resin particle before attachment of Si-containing a inorganic particulate in m<2>/g, Ss is BET specific surface area of Si-containing inorganic particulate in m<2>/g, and Xs is share of Si-containing inorganic particulate in the toner in wt.%. This prevents filming over the surface of photo-sensitive body, and it is not likely that toner blocking is generated. |
