In a polygranular C-body contg. granular or powdery and/or fibrous C particles, as filler, and a binder, the filler is built in as coke, C black, C fibres, natural- and/or synthetic graphite. Before heat-treatment, to solidify the binder, the C body, consisting of a plastic C compsn. contg. 50-150 wt.% w.r.t. filler, of a cokable binder, is shaped, under the activity of shearing forces, to a thin, plate-like body. In the subsequent heat-treatment, the body is shaped to a rigid, dimensionally stable, sheeting-like structure with a given configuration.
