The reinforced-concrete tower or chimney is built up in stages one above the other. Some at least of the sections forming the stages are in two or more parts joined together in the peripheral direction, and of reinforced concrete. At its end joint faces (5a, 5b), each part (4a, 4b) contains reinforcing bars (19a, 19b), with sections (20a, 20b) protruding towards the other part. These are embedded together in concrete poured on site between the parts, and overlap each other over part at least of their length. ADVANTAGE - Allows use of lightweight and easily handled prefabricated components.
