PURPOSE:To reduce scattering of a toner and to obtain an image high in density by using an acrylamide type polymer having sulfonic acid groups as a negatively chargeable charge controller and a specified quaternary ammonium as an auxiliary charge controller in combination with the negatively chargeable toner. CONSTITUTION:The toner contains as the negatively chargeable charge controller the polymer having an acrylamide type monomer of formula I (R' is a H or a lower hydrocarbon group and each of S1 and S2 is a hydrocarbon group having a sulfonic acid) and as the auxiliary charge controller having a charge controlling action in polarity reverse to the charge controller the quaternary ammonium of formula II (at least one of R is long-chain alkyl or such alkenyl, and at least 2 of them is lower alkyl or benzyl or the like, and A is an anion), thus permitting the obtained toner to prevent toner scattering and to stabilize image density. |
