957,250. Revivifying gas purifier waste. C. W. PILO, and S. W. DAHLBECK. June 19, 1962 [June 28, 1961], No. 23503/62. Heading C5E. A process for removal of H2S from ammoniacal liquors, which liquors have been used to remove H2S from gases, comprises passing the liquid through a first column at 20‹ to 65 ‹ C. countercurrent to a stream of CO2, and subsequently through a second column at a temperature near to the boiling point of the liquid to evaporate the CO2, the, stream of CO2 in the first column being supplied by the evaporated CO2 obtained from the second column. As shown, columns I and II may be provided with a washer/cooler V for partially freeing the gas from H2S before introduction into column I, the washing liquid may be water at room temperature. To increase the H2S concentration of the washing liquid coming from gas-washer VII, a column III is provided in which said liquid passes countercurrent to an H2S-rich gas which has been tapped from column I by means of duct 17 and returned through duct 18. Before circulating the liquid through columns I and II the H2S-content of the gas obtained is increased and the H2S-content of the liquid discharged from column III is decreased by contacting the gas with the liquid in column IV and liquid-container 22 before circulating the liquid through columns I and II. Column II is heated by passing vapour through duct 32. |
