摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To lower the momentary peak power consumption by a method wherein the supply of power to a plurality of electric water heaters is apportioned by time to each of them in a stagger so as not to load the supply of power with all of the electric water heaters simultaneously. CONSTITUTION:To supply power to a first electric water heater 3a, a timer 8 closes first contacts 9a and opens second contacts 9b and third contacts 9c, shutting off power to a second electric water heater 3b and a third electric water heater 3c. After an elapse of, for example, one hour in this state, the water in the first electric water heater 5a reaches the boil. Then the second contacts 9b are closed and the first contacts 9a and the third contacts 9c are opened, so that the second electric water heater 3b is supplied with power whereas the first and third electric water heaters 3a, 3c are not. Since thus the supply of power to the electric water heaters is shifted to each of them separately for each specific, staggered period of time, the momentary peak power consumption is reduced below a certain standard.</p>
