A golf ball is made from a composition comprising 5 to 95% by weight of a natural or synthetic rubber and 95 to 5% by weight of a copolymer of an olefine and an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid, said copolymer containing 2 to 40% by weight of acid. Part or all of the acid may be in the form of a salt. Further, materials such as zinc oxide may be added to the compositions to form thermolabile cross-links. Exemplified synthetic rubbers are polybutadiene, rubbery ethylene/propylene copolymer, butadiene-styrene copolymer, and block polymer of butadiene and styrene. The preferred acid copolymers are copolymers of ethylene with acrylic and methacrylic acids. Ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers may also be present. The compositions are preferably cured by peroxides.
