PURPOSE:To obtain an image which has little variation of density due to interruption of recording, by controlling a recording head to a head temperature approximately equal to that stored in a storage means on an interruption of recording, when resuming the interrupted recording. CONSTITUTION:While head temperature is equal to a set temperature stored in a CPU 111, a condition ready for printing is maintained. When the head temperature is not equal to the set temperature, the CPU 111 sends an inhibit signal 124 to an interface 103, thereby inhibiting a picture signal 104 from being sent to an ink jet head 7. A head heater 115 is driven when the head temperature is lower than the set temperature, whereas a fan 114 is driven when the head temperature is higher than the set temperature, in order to equalize the head temperature to the set temperature. When the head temperature is equalized to the set temperature, the condition ready for printing is restored, and recording of an image is resumed. |
