Carried on the main frame are two scissors lifts, one (9) at the front and a larger one (5) at the rear for raising heavy containers from ground level. The larger lift has lifting effort and support in addition to that provided by the scissors mechanism hydraulic actuating cylinder (25,26). At the fixed pivot end (14,15) are two vertical telescoping cylinders (27,28) which act on the platform (6) when it is elevated from the shut position where the mechanical advantage of the scissors mechanism is poor. At the opposite end of the platform are chains (33) providing a lifting force through the vertical cylinders (30,31). ADVANTAGE - Simple design providing stable lifting and support of heavy loads.
