1. A method for manufacturing fibreboard with refined outer surface. A layer of cladding fibrous pulp made of finer-felted fibre from the pulp proper, or fibre from other source prepared specially for that purpose, is wet coated upon a wet formed mattress of lignocellulose fibres. Then the base mattress with the cladding pulp thereon is further dehydrated by means of vacuum treatment, pressed and cut into mats which are then either dried, as in the case of porous fibreboards, or pressed, as in the case of hard fibreboards. The method is distinctive in that the pulp to be used for cladding is machined intensely even in the first stage of defibering, i.e. in a thermal defibrator, the process is continued in the second stage in a defibrator, then the cladding pulp, its concentration brought to 1.5/5%, is coated upon the base fibre mattress.
