INK JET RECORDING APPARATUS AND RECORDING HEAD CARTRIDGE

PURPOSE:To enhance the ink holding force of an ink flow passage by providing an ink supply member having capillary force to ink to at least a part of the liquid contact surface with ink ranging from the ink supply port of an ink storage member to a recording head. CONSTITUTION:The lead-out body 902 of an ink temporary storage member 900 is inserted in the ink supply port on the ink storage side of an ink tank part and the other end of the lead-out body 902 communicates with the ink supply port on the side of a recording head to form an ink flow passage. A plurality of thin-walled parts 901 forming an ink tank sump part are constituted around the lead-out body 902. The gaps between the thin-walled parts become parts temporarily storing ink. The ink from the ink storage part is guided through the lead-out body 902 and a definite amount of the ink is held by a capillary phenomenon. A fiber bundle composed of a polyester fibrous aggregate is used in the lead-out body 902 to prevent the invasion of air bubbles. As the material quality of the lead-out body 902, a porous absorbing body is used.
