Spinning frame service robot - has automatic programme and equipment to release and reset drafting zone pressure rollers

Spinning frame has a series of drafting zones. The top cradle for the cots provides the pressure, which is occasionally released and re-applied by the equipment on a service robot which is carrying out other tasks simultaneously. The drafting zone (6) is repeated in units along a frame. A service robot (26) has electronic control (27), including a programme (28) for release of pressure rollers (16, 17, 18). These have synthetic roller covering which lose shape if not occasionally released. The cradle (9) is hinged (10) and pressed into position and locked by the lever (29) hinged (30) and weighted (31). A controlled pneumatic cylinder (40) releases the lock by upwards movement of the shaft (41). The electromagnetic end (43) is switched on when bringing the arm back into the locking position. Similarly, the cylinder (39) presses the shaft (42) forward, raising the locking arm (34) which holds the cradle back in the open position when pin (33) is in the hook (38). When the frame is stopped, the service robot travels along the units, locks into the correct position at each one and releases the cradle (9) one after another. Before the drive is set in motion, the robot travels along the frame and re-sets each cradle in the operating position. ADVANTAGE - The roller coverings are released from pressure against the drive rollers, to allow them to regain their correct shape. The task is performed automatically.
