<p>PURPOSE:To remarkably reduce color slurring at an edge by detecting an edge of a luminance signal and selecting adaptively a color difference filter so that an edge of a color difference signal is reproduced at the same position as the edge of the luminance signal. CONSTITUTION:A luminance signal 1 is subjected to band limit by a luminance filter 2 and which of outputs 3a, 3b is closer to the luminance signal 1 is decided by a filter selector 4. A color difference signal 6 is subjected to band limit by a color difference filter 7 and the output of the color difference filter represented by a selection signal 5 of the filter selector 4 is selected by a selector 9 and a thinning signal 10 is obtained, as a criterion of the filter selector 4 to select the selection signal 5, a filter storing an edge or the like is selected, since the luminance filter 2 and the color difference filter 7 are respectively selected among plural filters, filters with low degree are switched for plural number of times, then the filter copes with lots of picture signals efficiently, then the scale of the hardware is reduced more than the case of employing usual high-degree filters.</p> |
