Emergency starting aid for IC engines - has battery supplying vehicle electrical system and auxiliary thermal battery with fusible electrolyte and ignition unit

The ignition unit of the thermal battery (1) consists of a mechanically activated pyrotechnical igniter. The mechanical operation for activating the igniter is coupled with a switch (10), which isolates the electrical system battery (33) of an IC engine. The thermal battery (1) is connected with an electrical starter motor (36) across a heat conducting bridge i.e. a copper frame (15). In the event of an emergency start, the mechanical igniter is operated across a cable line, simultaneously the switch (10) is opened by the line and the main battery (33) is isolated from the electrical circuit (30). USE/ADVANTAGE - Emergency starting aid for IC engines, e.g. installed in motor vehicles with automatic drive. Facilitates starting of engine with the failure of main battery e.g. due to frost damage or technical breakdown.
