Relatively-movable duct portions 11a, 11b of a suction duct for connecting a debris chamber 10 to a suction blower 12 of a street-cleaning vehicle, Fig. 1 (not shown), are sealed by packing comprising a rectangular arrangement of open-ended hose sections which are in terminal mitred interengagement at 17 and which are compressed between flanges 18 and 27 of the respective duct portions, the pressure differential between the duct interior and exterior acting to press the mitred ends of the hose sections together. The hose sections are contained in a rectangular U-shaped channel 22 and are secured to duct flange 18 by bolts passing through the flange and channel and through support plates 23 within the hose segments. |
