In a coiling device having an inclined rotatable delivery tube 28 and a pair of delivery rolls 23, 24 above the upper end of the tube 28, a vertically movable tube 42 is mounted beneath the rolls to transmit the sliver from the rolls to tube and is resiliently upwardly biassed e.g. by a spring 46 such that should the sliver block the tube the tube moves 'downward to operate a microswitch 49 and stop the rollers 23, 24 e.g. by opening a clutch in their drive. |
