A waste container cradle 11 for a plurality of free-standing containers, the cradle comprising a platform 12 provided with a plurality of seats 20 each being adapted to receive and locate a free-standing container on the platform so as to restrain the container against lateral movement across the platform. The seats preferably comprise upstanding flanges. An end of the cradle can have a loading hook 11 for roll-on, roll off loading. The platform can have hinged sides and be wheeled.
