PURPOSE:To obtain a high sensitivity characteristic and stable potential characterist in repeated uses by incorporating a specific tetrakisazo pigment into a photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:The tetrakisazo pigment expressed by formula [A is a coupler residue having phenolic OH; Ar, is an org, group having (un)substd, divalent heterocyclic arom. group Ar2-Ar5 are respectively an (un)substd. arylene, divalent condensation polycyclic arom. group or an org. group contg. a divalent heterocyclic group] is incorporated into the photosensitive layer provided on a conductive substrate.A in formula I is preferaly formula II-IV [X is a residual group which forms a polycyclic arom. ring or heterocycle by condensing with a benzene ring; R1, R2 are respectively H, (un)substd. alkyl, aralkyl, aryl or heterocycle or residual groups which together form a cyclic amino group with an N atom; R3 is an (un)substd. alkyl, aralkyl, aryl], etc. This tetrakisazo pigment may be used in the charge generating layer of a separated-function type photosensitive body. The spectral sensitivity is widened up to a long wavelength region and the potential stability during the durable use is improved by using such pigment. |
