1287485 Manicuring attachment SPERRY RAND CORP 16 Dec 1969 [13 Jan 1969] 61217/69 Heading A5R A manicuring attachment 18 adapted for use with an electric dry shaver 10 of the type comprising two arms 13-14 moved in an oscillatory path by a motor 15, comprises a body member 19, preferably of a moulded plastics material, with two generally rectangular cavities 26-27 therein to which project the arms 13-14. Elongate leaf springs 48, 38 are adapted to fit around the ends of the arms 13-14 and the ends of the spring 48, 38 are engaged with elongate frame members 45 and 37 respectively, of generally "C"-shaped crosssection. An elongate metal frame 42 is mounted onto the member 37 and arranged to project through a rectangular opening (33), Fig. 3 (not shown) in the wall 20 of the body 19, the projecting wall 42 being angled relative to the part of the frame 37 to which it is attached and in the same plane as projection 24 of the wall 20 of body 19, as shown. A strip 41 of sandpaper, emeryboard or similar material is placed on the wall 42. A similar frame 46 is attached to the member 45, the projecting wall 46 being arcuate in section parallel to its longer sides, Fig. 2 (not shown), and having a pad 47 of soft material placed thereon. Upon activation of the motor 15, the frames 45, 37 are moved in a reciprocatory path and may be finger placed on the projection or guide bar 24 the nail of which may be filed by the material 41. The material 47 may act as a polishing pad. The attachment is removably held onto a shaver by means of latch members (52), Fig. 2 (not shown) engageable with resilient fingers (51). |
