Wear-resistant mating surfaces are produced by first making surfaces of the required geometry but to only coarse tolerances; wear-resistant bodies and potting material are then added to fill in the space between the basic surface and master faces, and the infill is set hard until the master faces are removed. Preferred potting materials are hard setting synthetic resins. ADVANTAGE - The method cuts out the use of bushes.
