Mounted on the gearbox casing (2) of a heavy duty diesel engine is a speed regulator (1) with a resilient coupling (12). The regulator has a flange (4) secured by bolts (11) to a flange (3) on the gearbox casing, with a sealing ring (10) between. The two flanges have ports of reduced thickness, and form a resilient membrane. Between the flanges is a narrow gap (7) contg. pressurised oil. Inside the sealed edge zone is a circular, oil distribution groove (5) with a connection (6) for oil under high pressure.
