The sealing method is for the gap at the wall of an opening in the roof of a car. It is closable by a roof section having a downwardly projecting shank (4) to which a seal (2) is attached. The wall section (6") of the seal is displaceable away from the edge of the wall and the wall opening (1) by lifting the edge (7) from the shank (4). USE/ADVANTAGE - Sealing system which allows a roof to be lacquered or relacquered without having to detach the seal completely.
