<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a color filter with good surface flatness at a high yield by forming the color filter on a transparent substrate, applying heat treatment to the color filter within the period when discoloration occurs, then polishing the color filter. CONSTITUTION:A black matrix pattern is formed to the thickness 1 mum by printing on a transparent substrate, and it is heat-treated at 180 deg.C. A red pattern is formed by printing, and it is heat-treated at 180 deg.C. Green and blue patterns are formed by printing, and they are heat-treated at 200 deg.C. A color filter thus manufactured is polished with a sway type polishing device to reduce surface irregularities from about 0.5 mum to about 0.05 mum. Organosilane organic resin is coated to the thickness about 1 mum to protect abrasive scars on the surface, it is heat-treated at 200 deg.C, and an ITO film is formed on it for patterning. The filter with precise surface flatness can be obtained at a high yield.</p> |
