发明名称 SEPARATION OF BITTER COMPONENT IN ALOE EXTRACT
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain an aloe extract completely free from bitter taste inherent therein, usable as a mild health food, etc., by treating a cleared aloe extract with activated carbon to effect adsorption of the bitter components in said extract on the activated carbon. CONSTITUTION:A cleared aloe extract [for example, obtained by the following process: a pectinase-contg. enzyme is added to a crude aloe extract followed by clearing treatment (0.01-0.5wt.% of the enzyme is added and treated at normal temperatures to 80 deg.C)] is mixed with 5-50wt.%, based on the aloe extract, of activated carbon followed by treatment for 1-15hr at 5-50 deg.C under agitation, thereby effecting adsorption of the bitter components in said extract on the activated carbon. The activated carbon is then removed by filtration, thus obtaining the objective clear aloe extract completely free from bitter taste. The bitter components adsorbed on the activated carbon are extracted with a hydrophilic solvent, which is then distilled off, thus recovering said components which can be used for laxatives, imparting foods with bitter taste, etc.
