The grill unit has a heat-insulating housing (9) contg. a number of electric heating rods (4), with a drip tray (5) at the base of the housing (9) and a vent flue (6) at the top of the housing contg. a variable valve plate. The heating rods can be switched on and off individually during the grilling process and lie infront of the angled rear housing wall (3). - A water-filled heating plate (2) embedded in the latter is coupled directly to a heat exchanger to allow hot water to be supplied.
