<p>PURPOSE: To speedily and efficiently array binary images and to facilitate following image processing by integrating more than one reference feature parts called starting points into the binary images at the positions displaced by a known distance from a feature part in question in the image. CONSTITUTION: An image 10 is provided with a large number of starting points 15a-15d where these are reference marks set at nomical know positions corresponding to the feature part in question. The starting points 15a-15d are distinguished by characteristics which are not sheared by the other parts of the image. In the specific examples, the stating points 15a-15d are 'hook' marks formed by joining two mutually perpendicular at respective terminal parts. Therefore, the image 10 is subjected to a series of operations by which their positioned are determined by projecting the starting points. Thus, the position of the feature part in question can be decided.</p> |
